I listen to my fair share of new, random and sometimes unheard music.
I've also been told I've predicted trends in new music for example the rise of synths in non electronic and pop music. So with this I thought I might just lend my thoughts to them and highlight some artists I've discovered that I may be early to the carer.
Artist #1: Knock2 - The Tech House Prodigy
knock2 is an artist I discovered when he released dashstar*on the nightmode label. He brings freshness to the techhouse/ EDM genre and is an artist I am proud to support and follow along his career. With his affiliation with the nightmode label his song was released into the game CSGO. This is were a lot of people in the gaming space would recognise him. However, he has gone from strength to strength as this grew much bigger and was being used in some of the top DJ sets in 2022 and 2023. Now dashstar was relased in 2021 and in 2023 he is now performing sold out shows and playing sets at Ultra Music festival, one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world, and performing sets with Dillion Francis and RL Grime as well as long time collaborator ISOxo.
Artist #2: Sophie Powers - Queen of Social Media and Slap-worthy Beats
Sophie Powers is an artist I discovered back in mid 2023 while scrolling through Instagram. The main thing that caught my eye was the fits and the video editing that held my interest rather than the music so I never actually listened to her straight away. It wasn't until she came back in my feed a few times I decided to listen to her on Spotify but good thing i did because she slaps. She's also very clearly very creative because she designs all her outfits and their pretty good. She's also on a roll, with her first Spotify release in 2021 by March 2024 she already has a song with Dillion Francis and her latest song is with Baby Tate. That's quite impressive and a testament of social media.
Artist #3: Cody Ko (Yes, Really!) - The Remix King (You Didn't Know Existed)
Yes I know, he's already quite well known but i need a link between these 3 people and that's dillion Francis. Cody Ko who forms one half of the comedy podcast duo TMG makes some saucy house music. However, I prefer his less known music of his remixes on SoundCloud. Cody started his solo music career after he released a video entitled "I became a professional DJ to prove that it's easy" in which he recruits Dillion Francis to teach everything about djing. Go watch it, its a good video. I haven't got much to say on this so yeah.
The Dillion Francis Factor: A Master of Social Media
Lastly, Dillion Francis knows how to use social media to stay hip because he's always been doing it. Don't forget he came up during the early 2000's edm times so he clearly knows how to find new audiences and align himself with everyone to stay ahead of the curve.
Did I talk about what I said I was going to, who knows...who cares, honestly.
